In one of the residences of the Mezzacapo family, marquises of Neapolitan origin who later moved to what was formerly called Rheginna Major and now called Maiori, the Cuomo family decided to create Minihotel IRIS and give their own interpretation of tourist hospitality by combining family warmth and the comfort of a small hotel, offering guests the freedom, flexibility, and intimacy of a small structure that is always attentive to details.
The six rooms, all different, are inspired by flowers and recall their colors in the furnishings and some details. All equipped with a private bathroom, WiFi connection, and minibar, they are cozy dwellings where guests can rest after a day at the sea, a walk along the paths, or a boat excursion.
Minihotel IRIS is just outside the center of Maiori with a convenient private parking and a large terrace overlooking the green lemon groves and the Reginna stream where guests can have breakfast or relax in the open air. A stone's throw from Minihotel IRIS, guests can enjoy the wonderful sea of the Amalfi Coast, with its characteristic beaches and coves to discover; not far away is the ancient Maritime Republic of Amalfi, with its paper mills still producing the characteristic Amalfi paper; the exclusive Positano with its fashion and Ravello with Villa Rufolo, Villa Cimbrone, and the Ravello Festival. Easily reachable are also the city of Salerno and its ancient medical school, Vietri sul Mare with its famous artistic ceramics, Cetara to taste the anchovy sauce and red tuna, Sorrento for its wood inlays. Finally, there are also maritime connections to the fashionable Capri and Ischia, interesting all year round thanks to its thermal baths.
Breakfast is the main meal of the day and the first treat we can offer our guests when they wake up. Served in the room or on the terrace, every morning our sweet breakfast is made up of carefully selected quality products and, in addition to including the classic delights of the typical sweet Italian breakfast, is often enriched with homemade sweets or fresh seasonal fruit, respecting the territory, its recipes, and seasonality. Not always sweet! The Amalfi Coast, in addition to its beauties, is also famous for products strongly linked to the territory and of absolute gastronomic excellence. Starting from the desire to make our land known to everyone, once a week in the summer period, we offer a breakfast with typical products. Not the classic savory breakfast but a selection of local excellences such as semolina and hard wheat biscuit bread from Agerola, the "Corbarino" cherry tomato from Corbara, the Tramonti fior di latte, the Vico Equense Provolone DOP, the Sfusato Amalfitano DOP lemonade, all seasoned with EVO oil made with Amalfi olives, fresh spontaneous basil, and wild oregano.
